About

Tara Rumpler is an independent cake designer based out of Clifton Park, New York. Though fairly new to the professional cake-decorating scene, Tara has excelled at being one of the most creative and ambitious decorators in the Capital District. As with most daughters, Tara enjoyed baking with her mother as a child. She realized her passion for decorating many years later creating her first large birthday cake for her sister’s party. Since that day, more than six years ago, learning everything about baking, decorating, and more recently, flower making has become a near obsession for this accomplished young woman.

Tara's introduction to wedding cakes came with her own in 2002, when she hired a local bakery to create the cake of her dreams. She arrived at the reception only to find something quite the contrary. Since that day, she has vowed to make each and every bride the most spectacular sugar creations imaginable. She has now been professionally wowing brides and partygoers for over four years with her amazing cakes and floral displays.

Speaking of floral displays, Tara is in a league of her own when it comes to sugarpaste flowers. She is one of the only designers in the Capital District to specialize in these amazingly realistic creations. Tara was trained in the art of flower making by world-renowned sugar artist, Scott Clark Woolley in New York City. These beautiful flowers last for years and can be made to match any color scheme, making them a wonderful memento from your special day. Though dreams of becoming a well-known cake artist are a goal for Tara, she understands each bride's cake is an important element in their special day. This is why she has vowed to only create one wedding cake per weekend. Every cake, no matter how big or small is just as important as the next. Strict attention to detail and superior quality are what set Tara apart from other decorators. Her clients appreciate this commitment to their needs and requests. From simple floral birthday cakes to breathtaking towers of wedding cake and gumpaste flowers, clients can be confident their cakes will be nothing shy of perfection for their special day. Her work has been recognized in print, including in three issues of Wedding Cakes – A Design Source and her work will also be included in the Fall/Winter issue of Well Wed in New York.
